Detective puzzle #1

Quizzora Detective puzzle #1

You, Axcel Carlson, is a wannabie detective. You have an inherent capability of taking in every detail and eventually arriving at a conclusion. But you are no professional detective yet. But a journey of a thousand cases, begins with a single clue.

You hear a teacher harshly scolding two boys in an school. Very familiar with all the staff around there, you decide to check it out.

On the way to get inside the classroom where the kids were being scolded, you enquire to the person outside sweeping away some glass shards, what the matter was.

"Oh, those pesky idiots broke a pane of glass..It was replaced just last week.."

Duh. That didn't help..

You go inside and talk to the teacher.

" The kids were playing here when I heard the sound of the glass shattering..But Mathew says Bill threw a stone at him inside the class and struck the glass instead, while according to Bill, Mathew intentionally threw a stone at the glass window from outside to break it and then blame it on him. Doesn't matter how much I say, they both stubbornly remain fixed on what their saying.."

But with your unbelievable detective skills, it took you just seconds to figure out who the culprit was.

Who was the culprit and why?

Puzzle solved: Mathew says the truth and Bill is the culprit. The glass shards were found outside the classroom. This can only happen if the stone was thrown at the window from inside.

  1. Bill....
Because one does not simply break a window from the outside and come into the room to blame it on someone else.
